Samuel Phillips Lee telegram drafts to Generals Peck and Butler [manuscript], 1863 April 14 and December 4.

In a draft of a telegram, 1863 April 11, Lee informs Peck that four requested gunboats for the Nansemond are coming and he will send them as far as they can go. In addition the tugboat "Alert" is being repaired, he has sent for rifle screening, and hopes to increase the force in the river. In a draft of a teleghram, 1863 December 4, Lee informs Butler that a sighted ship is the French man-of-war "Grenade."
